I started this outlet on February 19, 2026, with a simple mission: investigate what others won't, cover the City of Conyers and the City of Oxford with the same rigor that bigger newsrooms bring to bigger cities, and do it with records, facts, and accountability at the center of every story.
Today, that mission has a legal foundation to match.
On March 16, 2026, CJ Lester Investigates LLC was officially organized as a Georgia Domestic Limited Liability Company — certified by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and on record with the State of Georgia.
This isn't just a business filing. It's a commitment — to this community, to this work, and to the people who read and support what I'm building here.
The Advisory Board
I'm also proud to announce that CJ Lester Investigates LLC has an advisory board in place.
Adam George serves as Vice Chair. Nathan Hurst serves as Secretary. And my wife, Ginny Lester, serves as non-voting Treasurer.
These are people who believe in this work and are committed to helping this outlet grow the right way — with integrity and accountability.
What This Means Going Forward
Becoming an LLC means I'm serious about the long game. It means the journalism I'm producing here — the open records investigations, the city council coverage, the stories no one else is chasing — is backed by a real structure built to last.
We are just getting started. If you have a tip, reach me at (470) 996-6915 or cj@cjlesterinvestigates.com.
CJ Lester is the founder and publisher of CJ Lester Investigates LLC, an independent accountability journalism outlet covering the City of Conyers and the City of Oxford.
