Introducing Faith & Wellness: A New Space for the Whole Person

Most of what I do is dig into records, file open records requests, and hold local government accountable. That work is serious, and I take it seriously. But I've always believed that a healthy community isn't just built on transparency in government — it's built on people who are well. Spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally.

That's why I'm launching a Faith & Wellness section here on cjlester.com.

This space is going to look and feel different from the investigative work. It's not about records or votes or contracts. It's about the quieter but equally important questions: How do we care for ourselves while we're fighting for the community we love? How does faith shape the way we live — not just what we believe, but how we eat, how we rest, how we treat our bodies and our neighbors? What does wholeness actually look like?

On the faith side, I couldn't be more excited to introduce Nathan Hurst as our Faith contributor. Nathan is 35 years old, has been married for eight years, and is a father of four. He's also been pastoring for more than 20 years — which tells you everything you need to know about the kind of person he is. This isn't someone who came to faith as a hobby or a career move. Nathan has been walking with God, walking with people, and doing the hard work of ministry since he was a teenager. He brings that depth and that lived experience to everything he writes. His voice in this section is going to be one you'll look forward to.

On the wellness side, we're still building. I'm actively looking for the right contributor — someone with real expertise in health, wellness, or wholistic living — to complete this section. If you're a healthcare professional, a counselor, a nutritionist, a personal trainer, or someone with a heart for faith-rooted wellness and a desire to reach this community, I'd love to talk. And if you're a pastor with a specific area of focus — grief, marriage, addiction recovery, mental health — and you'd like to contribute to this space, I want to hear from you too. Reach out at cj@cjlesterinvestigates.com or call (470) 996-6915.

This section is just getting started. But with Nathan leading the faith conversation, the foundation is solid. Pull up a chair — there's more to come.
