CONYERS, GA — March 2, 2026 — Melisa Teemer Mims formally qualified on Monday, March 2, 2026, as a candidate for Rockdale County Commissioner, Post II, marking the official start of a campaign rooted in more than two decades of professional, volunteer, and civic service to the residents of Rockdale County.
A recognized community leader and credentialed professional, Mims enters the race with a long record of community engagement and the founding of several local initiatives that have created meaningful and lasting impact throughout the county.
Mims holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Savannah State University and a Master of Arts in Psychology with a specialty in Organizational Leadership from the University of the Rockies. She currently serves as Director of Communications and Marketing and as Director of Showtime Pros, Inc. She is also a graduate of Leadership Rockdale and the Regional Leadership Institute.
